Jockey Safety
Being a jockey is one of the most dangerous jobs in the nation. On average 3 jockeys are killed every year in a racing accident. Jockeys weigh from 95 to 115 depending whether you are male/female. Like the horses, safety is also being addressed for these fearless and talented people. Also being a jockey is not as easy as people make it out to be.
Ron Turcotte: In 1978 a riding accident paralyzed him ending his career.

Jockeys have gone through extremes to lose weight. To the point of developing bulimia, having starvation diets, and near passing out. In the past few years weights have been raised.(Not exactly sure how much)
